Saw billboard along highway advertising free play in casino with purchase of 50 gallons of gas at their Travel Center- could not read it all as we were going down the highway at 60 miles an hour..... Pulled in and asked gas station attendant for details. He stated that we would receive a $10.00 slot play on our card for every 50 gallons of gas we put in our RV. Pumped gas and took our stamped receipts to the Cashiers cage in casino and was told 'NO' (not very nice tone either) - only for Truckers. When we told her what the gas station attendant stated- 'Don't care what you were told- only for truckers'. Had a hot dog , played a little slots and left....

I stayed overnight at Golden Acorn Casino. It is 60 miles East of San Diego and only about ¼ mile off I-8. I called ahead and was told they cater to Rv’ers. The casino is small and exceptionally clean, there is a small restaurant, mini mart, and gas station. All prices are very reasonable. The parking lot is large and the entire north end is level and well lighted. I would definitely recommend this as a stop over for the night or just a rest stop.

The Basic Aim

Regardless of which Blackjack variation you play, the aim remains the same: to beat the dealer's hand by getting closer to 21 than he or she does without going over 21 (also called busting).

Aces are either one point or 11 points, and you get to decide which value makes the most sense for your hand. Kings, queens and jacks are worth 10 points, and cards numbered two through 10 receive the value of their number. So, if you have a king and an eight, you have 18 points. If you have an ace and an eight, you have a “soft” nine and a “soft” 19 points (soft because the value changes depending on if you want the ace to be one or 11 points).

Dealers distribute two cards to all players, and one of their own cards is face down while the other is face up. When it is your turn, you can opt to “hit” to receive another card. Alternatively, you may opt to “stand” and receive no more cards. You can also decide to double down or split. Splitting is when your first two cards are a pair and you play each as individual hands. Doubling down is when you opt to receive only one more card and double your bet.
